Gables Lakefront Resort

The accommodation had everything we needed for our family. It was clean, spacious and warm. The biscuits were delicious according to my children! Convenient location. Beautiful views from our upstairs room. Well stocked with amenities and kitchenware and linen.

The property is right across the lake, and Franklyn and Kavita are the perfect hosts. We booked a one bedroom suite with a private hot pool. The suite comes with a living room that has a sofa that converts into a bed, a separate bedroom with a double bed, and a covered courtyard behind the bedroom that has the hot tub. The small kitchenette is helpful to whip up a quick meal or do some basic cooking. The bathroom is quite spacious and very modern. With plenty of parking, this is one of the best places to stay in Taupo. Nearly all of the rooms have a view of the lake. Both Kavita and Franklyn are passionate about hosting people, and it was great to have long conversations with them. I can't wait to be back again, albeit for a longer time.

Staff were friendly and helpful as I had a child who became sick. Loved the view out to the lake. Great having the chairs and table on the porch and the picnic tables near road too. Good sized rooms.

Great spot immediately over the road from Lake Taupo. Room was very comfortable and the spa was a bonus. Staff were very welcoming and their homemade shortbread were a delight. They had arrangements for several restaurants - one of which gave us 20% discount on our meal and wine.

Great views, top service, good value for money. Our expectations were exceeded in both the facilities and the wonderful supportive service from the hosts. Had additional extras not always at other motels, such as dish drawer, electric blanket, good sized TV and night light. The spa was also wonderful.
